- Since its founding in 1831, New York University (NYU) has been an innovator in higher education. Today, NYU is one of most prominent and respected research universities in the world. NYU Langone Health is a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center. Ranked as the #1 hospital in New York and the #3 Hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. NYU Long Island School of Medicine educates exemplary physicians and academic leaders in primary care. We prepare graduates to deliver outstanding patient care and become authorities in local and national health systems. Our graduate medical education programs offer postgraduate medical education training in more than 20 specialties. Throughout our programs, we encourage research collaboration in basic, clinical, and translational sciences to solve today's most urgent healthcare challenges.
The mission of NYU Long Island School of Medicine's Diabetes and Obesity Research Center is to understand different primary and secondary risk factors that contribute to diabetes and obesity. Through our innovative research, we seek new ways to prevent, treat, and cure these diseases. National Institute of Health (NIH)-funded postdoctoral (research associate) positions are immediately available for highly motivated individuals to study the roles of epigenetic modification in regulating vascular cell functions, lipid metabolism, glucose homeostasis, and liver fibrosis in the context of metabolic diseases and diabetes-related vascular complications. We are specifically interested in individuals with research experience in vascular biology, lipid biology, liver diseases, diabetes, and epigenetics. Publications in international peer-review journals and a doctoral degree in life sciences are required. The research will involve conditional knockout mice, cell culture, molecular biology, biochemical techniques, bulk RNA-seq, and single-cell RNA-seq. We also try to incorporate machine learning into our bioinformatics analysis and develop spatial transcriptomes. As one of the top medical schools, NYU Langone Health provides world-class research facilities to boost research innovation. NYU offers a highly collaborative scientific and warm, friendly environment and a competitive salary and benefit that follows the NIH standard.
