- The primary obligation of this role is to teach four (4) undergraduate courses for the Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences of Kyoto University. (One 90min class per week for each course, for 15 weeks). Preference is given to those able to teach in the areas of sustainability, resources, environment, and the interaction between industrial or economic activity and society, as well as critical thinking. Notably, those who can teach all or most of the following subjects:
1.(Seminar) Logic, critical thinking and argument;
2.Chemistry, Environment and Society;
3.Introduction to Sustainable Development; (co-taught)
4.Introduction to Mineral Resources;
Beyond this teaching load, the successful applicant would be encouraged to undertake research and research co-supervision in the Graduate School of Energy Science, as well as graduate teaching. All research fields relevant to energy science would be considered.

- The successful candidate must meet the following qualification.
Very high-level (native-like) proficiency in English
She / he must have a Ph.D. degree.
She / he must be self-motivated, dedicated, open-minded, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
She /he must have strong communication skills in oral/written English.
Preferably, she / he would have experience teaching in English.
Japanese language skills are not required, however they are an advantage. All applicants should have an interest in working in Japan – and preferably experience of living or working in Japan.
A good track record of research and publication in energy-science related fields.
All areas of expertise relative to energy science are considered

Working Conditions
Working hours: 38 hours 45 minutes per week under a flexible-hours system.
(7hrs 45min per day, Monday to Friday. Weekends, University Foundation Day and Public Holidays off.)
Salary and Benefits
To be determined in accordance with the existing employment regulations of Kyoto University.

(c) Affiliated academic societies and activities: achievements in social contributions (including industry-academia collaboration), awards, etc.
(d) your ORCID / SCOPUS / Web-of-Science or Google scholar profile links
(4) 1 copy each of 5 major papers
(5) Research plan if accepted (up to 1 page)
(6) Aspirations and approach to education (up to 1 page summary)
(7) Specify capability to teach the subjects listed below, and if any cannot be taught, suggest up to one (1) alternative course (title and description) (up to 1 page)
